What’s the Grand Slam Challenge All About?

For those new to the thrill of the chase, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) Catch a Memory program is a celebration of the sport. Anglers are challenged to catch three specified species within a 24-hour window. Since its 2014 update, the program has included nine distinct Grand Slams—along with a special Small Fry Slam for young anglers aged 15 and under—promoting responsible catch-and-release practices. Winners receive not only a certificate signed by the FWC Marine Fisheries Management Director but also a colorful t-shirt and recognition in official fishing regulations.
